Andrew Zimmern definitely could be considered an expert on traveling and finding unique eats on his way. As host of the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods, Zimmern has traveled the globe sampling native delicacies, and often sought out the strangest foods possible. The next adventure for the chef and writer is a 12-stop tour of the American South seeking out the unique and delicious food this region has to provide. And how is he getting from point-A to point-B? In none other than a Toyota Venza.
Not only is Andrew travelling to the larger food hubs, such as Atlanta and the Big Easy, but is also venturing to cities less known for their cuisine, such as Chattanooga, where he sampled a shrimp and grits dish that adds a twist on two southern classics.. On top of that, favorite southern dishes also make an appearance as well, as Zimmern takes a bite out of wings and pulled-pork sandwiches too.
Now that we've discussed the food that is featured on Appetite for Life lets take about the car. The Toyota Venza, which is also of southern origin - at least in the fact that it is built there at the Toyota Moto Manufacturing Kentucky plant, recently underwent some big changes for the 2013 edition. The new midsize crossover now features three new exterior and interior colors, while also adding Entune, the onboard infotainment system that gives drivers the option of connecting their smartphones and iPods up to the Venza to control devices from the steering wheel.
If trim and color choices weren't enough, the Toyota Venza offers a couple different power train options as well. Available in both front- and all-wheel drive, the crossover comes standard with a 2.6-liter I4 engine that churns out 182 horsepower, while a V6 options uses a 3.5-liter engine that reaches up to 268 horsepower, meaning it packs plenty of performance.
