DARCARS Toyota & Kids In Need Foundation Collaboration

Back-to-school time means DARCARS Toyota of Silver Spring is partnering with the Kids In Need Foundation once again! KINF is a nonprofit that works hard to dissolve educational inequality for students in underserved schools and neighborhoods, and our dealership is proud to have joined forces with their organization for the third year in a row.

This past August, our team in Silver Spring, MD, helped distribute backpacks full of school supplies to more than 400 students at Kemp Mill Elementary School to make sure children have the materials they need for a successful school year. DARCARS Toyota of Silver Spring, along with 619 other Toyota dealerships, also donated $3.00 to the Kids In Need Foundation for every oil change and accompanying tire rotation purchased by customers, and we'll continue to promote additional fundraisers to support the nonprofit. DARCARS Toyota Hosts Local Event to Support Under-Resourced Students

Toyota Dealerships Nationwide Partner with Kids In Need Foundation for Big Summer Giveback Program

Distribution of backpacks full of new school supplies to local under-resourced students

WHY:

In the schools served by Kids In Need Foundation, nearly 2 out of 3 students arrive on the first day of school without the supplies they need to learn.

Silver Spring, MD – This back-to-school season, Toyota dealerships, in partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation (KINF), are equipping 60,000 students nationwide with essential school supplies, promoting equity in education across the country.

Through its third-annual Big Summer Giveback program, DARCARS Toyota, along with 619 other Toyota dealerships throughout the nation, will support local schools. DARCARS Toyota will be supporting students at Kemp Mill Elementary School, where representatives from DARCARS Toyota will distribute backpacks to over 400 students in their classrooms. From August 1-31, 2024, Toyota will donate $3.00 to KINF for every oil change with a tire rotation at participating Toyota Service Centers. Additionally, Toyota is promoting equity in education through an additional fundraiser during the month, collecting donations at www.kinf.org/toyota for customers who wish to contribute more.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Toyota for the third consecutive year. This collaboration has been instrumental in creating a significant impact for thousands of students and teachers alike. This year alone, over 60,000 students will start the year with the supplies they need to learn,” said Corey Gordon, CEO of KINF. “This not only eases the burden on teachers in under-resourced schools to provide the supplies their students need to be successful, it also increases public awareness of the importance of creating equitable learning environments in our underserved communities.”

Tens of thousands of students will receive a new backpack full of essential school supplies through KINF’s Supply A Student program. More than 47 dealerships, including DARCARS Toyota, have committed to $10,000 donations in their communities, ensuring that local students will start the school year strong with new supplies.

Since its inception in 2022, this partnership has resulted in cumulative donations exceeding $3.75 million and supported over 140,000 students through KINF's Supply A Student program.
