Your Maryland driver's permit is the second stage in your quest for a driver's license. The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MMVA) is responsible for all driving and licensing matters. This process can seem confusing at first, so we'd like to explain your requirements for getting a driver's permit if you live in Silver Spring, MD. Apply for a Learner’s Permit This is the first important step on the road to your driver's license. To complete this step, you'll need to book the written learner’s test at any MMVA office. To book the test, you need to be at least 15 years and 9 months old. You will need to bring proof of your identity, proof of your address, and proof that you're a resident of Maryland. more You will need to bring a parent or guardian with you if you're not yet an adult and pay $50 for the test.
